Get to know our charities

For this year’s edition of CX Gives Back, we were really thoughtful with our charity choices. We wanted to not only help great causes but also show the CX community that we care about you and the things that impact you most. Here’s what to know about the great organizations we chose to donate to this year.

  • Mental Health America: This amazing organization helps the mental health and well-being of all people throughout the US via education, research, advocacy, public policy, and direct service. Their work is informed, designed, and led by the lived experiences of those most affected by mental health concerns.
  • Girls Who Code: CollegeXpress is passionate about women in STEM—and so are the people at Girls Who Code. This organization is working toward closing the gender gap in new entry-level tech jobs through on-campus activities, online resources, and campaigns. In fact, they say they’re “building the world’s largest pipeline of future female engineers.”
  • Teach for America: Teach for America supports education for students of all ages by helping them develop leadership skills, creating a network of support, and more. The organization believes that “every young person deserves a relevant, engaging education and the power to choose their own future,” and we couldn’t agree more.
  • Make-A-Wish: Make-A-Wish is a well-known charity that often works with Disney to grant wishes to children with critical illnesses worldwide. Since 1980, these two powerhouse companies together have granted wishes for more than 150,000 children. In fact, according to Make-A-Wish, “Historically, one out of every two wishes granted in the US has been a Disney wish.”
  • Kids In Need Foundation: The Kids In Need Foundation advocates for equal education for all students through their commitment “to creating equitable learning environments for teachers and students in under-resourced communities.” Just $1 donated to this charity amounts to $24 worth of supplies for teachers and their students.

When is the giveaway?

This year’s giveaway runs from Monday, December 11 to Friday, December 15, and each day is a giveaway independent from the day before or the day following. The deadline to enter each day is 11:59 pm ET, and the winner will be chosen the following day. (Friday’s winner will be chosen and contacted the following Monday, but the deadline to enter will remain the same.)

How can I win?

Complete the daily challenge listed on the calendar before midnight, and we’ll choose one random winner from that day’s participants. We’ll contact the winner the next morning through Instagram DMs, so be sure to check your inbox and revisit our social pages for updates.

Can I enter and win more than once?

You can complete the daily challenge question and enter the giveaway each day this week, but you can only win once. You can also only enter once per day; multiple comments will not increase your chances of winning. Keep returning to our calendar or Instagram page every day to try again if you don’t see a DM from us in your Inbox!

My college search began at CollegeXpress. Due to this helpful tool, I was able to gather a lot of information to guide my college planning decisions. Through CollegeXpress, I was also able to apply to several scholarships to help pay for my tuition. I would definitely recommend this website to anyone who wants to explore colleges and get more information from admission experts, counselors, and real students.

It's an honor for me to be writing to share a little about my experience with CollegeXpress. I've been using CollegeXpress for about a year now, and the reason why I chose it is because it provides astonishing scholarships for every student around the globe. Besides that, this organization dispenses all the information necessary to help students get to college. CollegeXpress has helped me have an easier experience with applying to colleges and choosing the best fit for myself.

CollegeXpress helped me narrow my school choices down from 10 schools to four and then two. It also gave me information on a school I had never heard about or thought about attending until now, which is the school I will be attending in the fall. I am thankful for CollegeXpress and its helpful tools.

I've used CollegeXpress quite a bit as a senior, particularly for colleges and scholarships, so it's been a very big asset in that respect! I would recommend it to anyone looking to pursue a college education, especially seniors! This scholarship will help me achieve my goals in ways I couldn't have before, and I know that there are opportunities like that for everyone on the website and in the magazines!
