A Catholic University for Independent Thinkers
Our Catholic identity
University of Dallas is enthusiastically Catholic in both the spiritual and intellectual sense. With twice-daily Mass at the Church of the Incarnation, a chapel that is accessible 24/7, an active campus ministry, and myriad service opportunities, the University provides an encouraging atmosphere for students looking to grow and deepen their faith. In the classroom, the rich Catholic intellectual tradition informs our search for truth as the definitive end of education. While nearly 80% of our student body is Catholic, UD supports academic and religious freedom; all faiths are welcome and heard in our pursuit of wisdom and truth.
Our Core Curriculum
All students, regardless of major, are required to complete our nationally recognized Core Curriculum: a two-year, 60-credit-hour sequence of classes. Through the Core and the dozens of Great Books that make up its foundation, students explore many fields of study and come to understand the interconnected nature of all knowledge.
Our Rome Program
For many UD students, the semester-long Rome Program stands out as a particular highlight of their college experience. From the University’s Eugene Constantin Campus—with UD’s own professors, curriculum, and students—the UD Rome Program provides a uniquely cohesive and in-depth study abroad experience. In Rome, courses come to life as students immerse themselves in the very culture, history, and art they are studying. Students also have many opportunities for additional travel outside of Rome with their class and independently.
Our community
UD students work hard—and they relax in kind! Whether it’s the silliness of fall Charity Week or laid-back socializing at Music on the Mall on Fridays, there’s always something happening on campus. UD’s unique academic, spiritual, and communal character brings students together through more than 50 academic, service, and social clubs and organizations.
Dallas–Fort Worth
Located in the heart of the vibrant Dallas–Fort Worth area, the UD campus provides a host of entertainment options. Students can take advantage of the University of Dallas DART Station—located just two blocks from campus—to go shopping in Uptown, take in a Dallas Mavericks game, dine at 2,000+ restaurants, or visit any of the 120 museums and galleries Dallas has to offer.

“After my first semester, the sense of home and the community stood out to me, I have met so many incredible people who I know I will keep in touch with for the rest of my life.”
“The Catholic identity of the school and the Core Curriculum were big parts of my decision, in no way has the University of Dallas disappointed me.”
“My experience here has been a true blessing and one of transformative growth—intellectually, spiritually and socially.”
“I was just impressed by the Math Department, how they had a good approach to teaching the material and more of a focus on pure math. I was impressed by the math program and by the Core. That was just a good combination.”
