Occupational Therapy
Stony Brook University, ranked as one of the top 100 universities in the nation and one of the top 40 public universities by U.S. News & World Report, offers two locations for its Occupational Therapy Program: East Campus in Stony Brook and Stony Brook Southampton, our satellite location on the beautiful East End of Long Island.
We admit only 60 students (30 per campus) to the program every year. Graduates of this three-year program receive a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and sit for the national certification exam for occupational therapists administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Our program is nationally ranked and accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
We provide a dynamic learning experience for students by encouraging interdisciplinary and professional collaborative research, fostering relationships with strong community programs, and providing opportunities to develop robust scholarly activities within the program and in the larger health care community. Our diverse faculty bring their expertise and strengths to the classroom and encourage students to participate in scholarship and research with them as part of their extensive learning experiences.
