Holi Festival at UCSC
This video shows UCSC's 5th annual Holi Festival. Unfortunately, I was not able to film an intro because of the dust getting into my camera. However, Holi, known as the Festival of Colors or as the Festival of love, is an ancient Hindu religious festival. The Holi festival has created a positive environment at UCSC during the spring where we can see students celebrating love through colors. Students are seen playfully throwing colored powder up in the air and on other students regardless of their race and ethnicity. The festival has a significance of bringing people together through laughter and bridging the social gap between students on campus. The Holi Festival is sponsored by the UCSC Student Union Assembly, Indian Student Association, Tau Kappa Epsilon, and the Dean of Students Office.A Special Edition Tour of McHenry Library
A place of great study. Welcome to McHenry library! In this video, my good friend Nina, a certified UCSC tour guide, gives you a tour of the library. McHenry Library is a place where students go to study, rent out textbooks, and even just to hangout! This library is nestled in the heart of campus and is easily accessible from all 10 colleges. During finals week, you will find some students make this place their second home. My favorite part about McHenry is the study porches which you will see in this video!Meet my good friend Rizal Aliga!
Meet Riz and learn a little more about UCSC through the perspective of a student.Office of Physical Education, Recreation, and Sports (OPERS)
OPERS is the Office of Physical Education, Recreation, and Sports. The goal of OPERS is to enrich the college experience by promoting physical activity, encouraging health and wellness, and cultivating leadership. OPERS offers a ton of classes, workshops, outdoor adventure trips, intramural sports leagues, clubs, drop in activities and recreational facilities. There is also a pool which is open daily for recreational swim! OPERS is also one of the largest employers on campus which offers many work study and non-work study student jobs. At OPERS, there is "Something for everyone!"I would like to receive updates and offers from CollegeXpress via email.
