In Fall of 2023, DePauw will become the only Top 50 national liberal arts university in the Midwest with a business school—and one of only four in the nation. Study business and leadership at a fully undergraduate, residential university already known for the extraordinary success of its graduates.
“I am so excited about the School of Business and Leadership combined with a liberal arts education.
Very few schools in the entire world can do those two things well at one time.
DePauw’s been doing it well for a long, long time.”
– Jeff Harmening ’89, Chair and Chief Executive Officer, General Mills
Experience is everything
From day one, students are immersed in experiences reserved for graduate students at larger universities. Anchored by the Sanger Leadership Initiative and the Prindle Institute for Ethics, DePauw experiential opportunities are unparalleled.
A strong foundation
The liberal arts and sciences prepare well-rounded, intellectual leaders with exceptional interpersonal, creative, communication and problem-solving abilities. These “leadership arts” skills prepare you for your entire career.
Business IS personal
An 8-1 student-to-faculty ratio means professors prioritize mentoring and relationships. We know you here. And so do our alumni, who enthusiastically mentor and connect students with opportunities.
Gold Within is priceless
At DePauw, we define the qualities possessed by the most respected leaders–those who bring out the best in themselves and others—as Gold Within. And a DePauw education mines those qualities to shape values-driven, purposeful, and prepared leaders on any career path.

Students in DePauw’s Business program explore business decision-making and problem-solving individually and in groups, drawing on a rich liberal arts foundation of data analysis, ethical inquiry, global awareness and clear thinking and communication.
Business students develop and apply these abilities in coursework, case studies, independent research, and internships.
Opportunities for leadership, internships, alumni connections and mentorship are magnified through the Business Program’s connections with the McDermond Center for Management and Entrepreneurship and the Management Fellows Program.
