Developed as a collaboration between the NASA Robotics Academy at Goddard Space Flight Center and the School of Engineering at Morgan State University, SIR aims to increase the knowledge and understanding of the concepts and principles of robotics for urban high school students. Instruction covers robotic theory and design, computer programming and presentation skills. Lab work allows students to put skills to use in weekly competitions. The program also features visits to corporations that specialize in robotics, as well as trips to nearby engineering organizations and agencies.
