VSA offers advanced curricula in math, science and the humanities to gifted students. Taught by Vanderbilt professors, lecturers and graduate students, courses integrate resources from research centers and laboratories. Games, movies, sports and off-campus outings complement academics. Weeklong programs accommodate rising eighth graders who have participated in talent searches, two-week sessions serve pupils entering grades 9 and 10, and three-week courses enroll students entering grades 11 and 12. Three-week Law School 101 and Med School 101 programs operate in conjunction with Vanderbilt's professional schools; admission to both is highly competitive and is distinct from admission into other VSA courses.
