This apprentice-level research opportunity for rising high school juniors and seniors involves extensive laboratory experience (85 percent of the session time). The program focuses on original research that includes experimental design, data collection, statistical analysis, and the communication of results through both written and oral means. YSP's six-week session features morning lectures, group study, educational excursions, seminars, and individual and group instruction time. Students complete research notebooks, write an article describing the research project and its conclusions, make a presentation of the individual project at a research symposium and present their research to pupils at the home high school.
